100 Foreign Journalists Undergo Training in China

More than 100 Journalists from 90 developing countries across the globe have commenced their training in development communication and diplomacy in Beijing China. 


The four-month training is being conducted by the China International Press Communication Centre (CIPCC) and has attracted Journalists from Latin America, Asia and Africa including Zambia among other parts of the world. 

CIPCC Director Yu Lei said the training is expected to improve cooperation between China and countries from participating media organisations. 

Mr. Lei said the CIPCC will hold lecturers on China's social economic development, diplomacy, culture, science and technology.

" As participants of this media programme, you will be trained in latest media trends and you will be later attached to Chinese media organisations. Additionally, we will organise symposiums with relevant departments, enterprises, think tanks and media organisations," he said. 


Mr. Lei added that CIPCC participants will equally have an opportunity to cover major local and diplomatic events in China. 

 Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation Reporter   Angela Rachel is hopeful that undergoing the CIPCC training will enhance her outlook on China thereby enabling her refine her reportage. 

"I will gain insight from this fellowship which will help me experience China's culture, people, politics and way of life in general. This will help me package media products on the country with a better understanding," she said.

The CIPCC media training is scheduled to end in June 2024 and Zambia is being represented by Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) Reporter Linda Mupemo.
