Journalism Schools Urged to Review Curricula

 By Linda Mupemo Frank Mutubila - Picture Courtesy of Pelum Zambia Veteran Journalist Frank Mutubila has called on media training institutions to modify their curricula to suit current trends in the sector.    Mr. Mutubila observed that the evolution of the media industry calls for the enhancement of teaching material to ensure Journalism graduates meet the industry needs.    Mr. Mutubila said this in Lusaka yesterday during a media engagement organised by Pelum Zambia.   He added that it is essential for Media Lecturers to undergo practice before they venture into academia.    "Journalism institutions should re-look the caliber of lecturers imparting knowledge in Journalists. You cannot have a coach who has never played in the field. The Latest REA Media Award Winner!

And the award goes to.........Linda Mupemo!!!!!! When I got employed in the civil service, I was super excited. However, my excitement was watered down the moment I discovered the place I was going to was not connected to the national power grid. I complained and questioned God's move. Like God, I need this job but do you really have to post me to a place where is no electricity? Where do I even start from? Nearly two years later,  the then lack of electricity in  Milenge  district has created an avenue for me to win the  2018  Rural Electrification Authority (REA)    media award for the first ever Best Web-Based Publication. This is a tale I will live to tell; there is something beautiful on the other side of your dark season. I take zero credit for this.
